Amanda McLain

I was born in Winona, and although I spent a few years away, I’ve called it home for the past 14 years.

Much of my professional life has been dedicated to teaching at the high school level, a role that deeply connects me to RIPple’s mission. Over the years, I’ve supported students grappling with addiction—some of whom tragically lost their lives to fentanyl poisoning. My own family has also been touched by tragic loss, including an alcohol-related accident and a suicide. These experiences have fueled my passion for education and advocacy in areas where we continue to lose loved ones far too soon.

As a mother, grandmother, aunt, and great-aunt, I feel a profound responsibility to help guide and protect the next generation. Creating a safe, thriving community begins with awareness and education. RIPple’s Vice President Robin said it best: “Working to bring awareness and education to our children and the people who lead them into their adult life is critical.”

I am committed to amplifying RIPple’s outreach and strengthening its impact—because every life matters, and every voice can make a difference.
